Soprano and harp duo, Maggie Pate and Marilyn Wienand

Soprano and Harp Duo,
Maggie Pate and Marilyn Wienand.

Maggie and I perform a variety of Celtic songs, pops, classical and Christmas music. Maggie has a gorgeous voice with a very smooth sound which goes with the harp beautifully.  She is marvelously musical and a joy with whom to collaborate.

Soprano, Maggie Pate is a professional soloist, singing throughout the US in both the classical and jazz realms for 25 years. Maggie holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Pedagogy from ECU, a diploma in jazz studies from Berklee College of Music, and a MSEd. in music education from Sunbridge College. She teaches private voice and piano in her home.

Harpist, Marilyn Wienand has been a musician all her life. She has studied in Vienna, Austria, and holds degrees in organ and voice, with a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Colorado in Boulder. She has been playing the harp professionaly since 1990.

Testimonials

During the 2007 Candlelight Tours of Tryon Palace, Margaret and Marilyn were the main attraction in the Drawing Room. The combination of a beautiful soprano voice accompanied by the lyrical harp was perfect entertainment for the thousands of visitors during the tours. They were consistently mentioned by visitors as one of the high points of the tour. With their period costumes and appropriate musical equipment, Margaret and Marilyn looked and sounded totally authentic while entertaining at Tryon Palace.
